Braised salt cod

A fundamental food ingredient widely used throughout Italy, “baccalà” salt cod is served in a variety of ways. One of the most popular combinations in Italian cuisine is salt cod braised with tomato sauce, or “baccalà in umido” (stewed salt cod), also perfect with added potatoes, olives, chickpeas or bell peppers. A dish that sets your imagination free!

PREPARATION: heat for 8 minutes in a frying-pan over medium-low heat or in a microwave oven for 3 minutes, first piercing the pack with a toothpick.
PERFECT SERVE: serve hot with thick slices of toast.
